Our Everyday Human Concerns will be Met
If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers - most of which are never even seen - don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.Matthew 6: 30-34
We all struggle, strain, worry, work overtime and then some, just to ”get” more stuff and/or to make ends meet. God wants us to relax, and let Him give to us. If we use our hard-earned money to “get” all the “stuff” - what’s left for God to give?
Can it really be that simple?
Think about this: When we earn and save money for something special, then go buy it, who gets the credit? the honor? the glory? the praise? the thanks? When we earn something, we are depending on our own abilities to provide rather than on God.
I’d like to propose something radical today, and I’d like you to join me if you are so led. My hubby and I have three particular wants/needs. But we cannot see how any of them fit into our budget anytime in the near - or even distant - future.
Today, right now as I write this, I’m laying them at God’s feet. He knows what those three wants/needs are, He knows whether we should have them. We’re asking Him for them - if He wants us to have one, two, or all of them, we’re asking Him to provide. As of right now, I’m going to stop shopping. He knows.
Doesn’t the verse above tell me I can relax? He will do His best for us - we can’t beat that, can we? And as we wait, we’ll do three things that we talked about in an earlier post - we’ll Praise God, we’ll Worship God, and as the verse above says, we’ll give our entire attention to what God is doing.
Is there something you need to lay at His feet? Is there something He can give you? Are you willing to relinquish your right and ability to earn it, and just receive it?
I’ll keep you posted on our two wants/needs.
Feel free to share your own journey with us in the comments. I’ll pray for you as we travel through this together.

That’s very true. If we just lelt it go if it is to be, it will come. I’ve found that to be true many times. Great post.
